Acushla Essential Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 5L Bag-in-Box
Bulk and catering size. Best value per litre. Bag-in-box preserves freshness. Limited quantities from our first shipment.
Acushla is what happens when a family decides to do one thing and do it exceptionally well. Cold extracted from centenarian and native olive trees in the Tras-os-Montes region of Portugal, every bottle is organic, PDO certified, and produced at one of the only facilities in Portugal to hold FSSC22000 food safety certification. If you have only ever cooked with supermarket olive oil, this will change how you think about it.
Tasting notes
Same Essential blend as the 2L. Medium fruity, rounded, gentle pepper. The best value per litre we sell.
How to use it
Bulk and catering size. One box replaces ten 500ml bottles and takes up less shelf space. The tap makes it easy to fill smaller bottles for the line or the table. Bag-in-box keeps air out, so the last pour tastes like the first. Store cool and dark.
Pairs with
High-volume kitchens, catering, bakeries, anyone making dressings, marinades or confit by the batch.
Try this: Garlic confit
Peel 4 heads of garlic. Put the cloves in a small pot and cover completely with Essential, about 300 ml. Add a sprig of thyme. Heat on the lowest flame until tiny bubbles rise, then hold it there for 45 minutes. The cloves turn soft and sweet. Keep in the fridge under the oil for up to 2 weeks. Use the oil for everything, use the garlic on everything.
The awards agree
Gold at Italian BIOL, London IOOC, Canada IOOC, Japan IOOC and Berlin GOOA. Grand Prestige Gold at Terra Olivo Israel. Silver at New York IOOC and Athena IOOC. Selected Best Olive Oil from Portugal by Olive Japan International.

How to use it
Finish
Heat off, oil on. A spoonful over soup, grilled fish, pasta, sliced tomatoes or burrata. This is where the Green and Limited Edition earn their keep.
Cook
Roast, sauté, pan-fry. Real extra virgin holds up to everyday heat better than people think. The Origin tin lives next to the stove for exactly this.
Dip
Bread, a puddle of oil, flaky salt. If it tastes grassy, a little bitter and peppery at the back of your throat, that’s fresh oil doing its job. Pane e olio is the whole test.
